Texas
Public Radio published an article on July 12, 2012 discussing Abortion Rights Activists Plan Challenge To Texas Measure. The article explains to the reader
how activists are staying strong no matter the outcome of the HB2 bill. The
passing of HB2 Bill states that abortion doctors must have admitting privileges
at nearby hospitals, abortion clinics will need to be upgraded to surgical
centers, and lastly; abortions would be banned after 20 weeks of fertilization.
This
political topic of women’s right to an abortion is not going to stop the
discussion with the passing of this bill. Government officials are not doctors nor
do they have a medical background of women’s health. Who are they to decide
what is best choice for pregnant women or women in general on their personal
health?
It
is the women’s choice, not the government or state’s decision. Pro-choice
Activists are going to be standing strong to make a difference and progress
from the passing of the bill.
